Things are getting real up in here. Yes, I really just said that. But seriously, I am in my third trimester! My final trimester of my first pregnancy. What is life? Robby almost cried this morning thinking about holding our little girl. He is going to be the best dad. I can already tell.
One thing I have looked forward to the least about this pregnancy since the beginning was my glucose test. I'm not too worried about having Gestational Diabetes per say, but I've heard horror stories about how disgusting the drink is and how awful it makes you feel. Needless to say I had anxiety for the past two weeks because I knew my test was coming up. Can I just say people are so dramatic? I understand everybody's experience is different but for me it wasn't bad at all.
The worst part about the whole thing was the fact that the Quest Diagnostics that I went to only had two people working, so they were slow. But the drink tasted like a regular orange drink to me. Granted I did kind of hold my breath while drinking it, but I downed it in under a minute. They had a separate room with semi-comfortable chairs and a TV for me to wait in, so I didn't have to wait in the waiting room. The hour that I was waiting went by fairly fast because I could watch TV. I did start to feel a little queasy toward the end of the hour, but luckily I didn't get sick. I was surprised by how much blood they had to take. Six whole vials! I read about other people getting sick or passing out after having their blood drawn during their glucose test, so I was worried that might happen. It didn't.
Basically, what I am trying to say is it's nothing to have anxiety over.
Overall, this has been a busy and stressful week. But I guess the week after a vacation usually is. I babysat my godson on Tuesday, I am still working on my final two wedding videos of the year, Robby and I went on a spending freeze and I've had to think about this glucose test all week. But making it to 28 weeks just makes all of the stress and worry go away. I am so ecstatic that I get to meet my Baby B so soon.
How far along: 28 weeks!
Gender: A sweet, little girl!
Weight gain: I will know next week at my next doctors appointment. I honestly don't feel as huge as I used to. Maybe I'm just used to the weight gain now.
Symptoms: I am getting Braxton Hicks Contractions like crazy.
Belly button in or out: Still out. I will be surprised if this thing ever goes back in.
Sleep: I am getting more and more tired as the days go on. Naps are a must. My bed time is closer to 9 PM now instead of 10 PM. But I am still able to sleep pretty well through the night. Fingers crossed that continues.
Best moment this week: Getting the glucose test over with and making it to 28 weeks. Oh, my diaper bag came in. I'm going to make a post just for the bag because I love it that much.
Worst moment this week: The whole week has kind of stressed me out, so I've felt down and tired the whole week.
Miss anything: I'm kind of missing laying on my stomach.
Movement: I can feel her move at any time of day now. I don't know what her schedule is yet, but I don't think she sleeps much. I feel her move constantly. And not just a kick, but full on flipping, stretching, hiccups, etc. Luckily, none of the movements have been painful yet.
Cravings: I am more interested in drinks right now instead of food. Give me an iced decaf latte or a coke icee. Who needs food? But I did eat a lot of waffles this week.
Looking forward to: Going to our first Childbirth Class next week.
