Isla had her very first trip to the fair yesterday. I personally only go to the fair for the cotton candy and kettle corn, but Robby thought it would be a fun family adventure. And I have to say he was right. Isla absolutely LOVED it!
Our first stop was to see the animals. There were cows, goats, horses, chickens and bunnies. Isla flipped! She was reaching for them, jumping, clapping, and making all kinds of animal noises. She could not contain her excitement. All she wanted to do was pet and hold them.
I think she loved the rest of the fair just as much because she was a mad woman running from each ride to each game. All of the colors, lights and people were catching her eye, and she didn't know what to do. Any door she found open she would try to go in. To be honest we didn't go on any of the rides. Watching her was entertainment enough and totally worth the $12 we paid to get in. I may have even given her a taste of cotton candy, and of course she loved that too.
I think the only hiccup in the whole night was giving Isla the car keys while in the fair. Any time she sees the keys she asks for them. And in my attempt to keep her entertained while we ate I gave them to her. I even asked her not to lose them because we can't get home without them. I immediately forgot about them after that. Once it was time to leave the fair and we arrived at the car, I realized the keys were nowhere to be found. Robby ran back inside and luckily some kind stranger turned them in to the sheriff. Crises averted.
I am so excited to bring her again next year. Maybe she will be tall enough to ride a couple of rides.
