I just got back from my 23 week appointment, and Baby Baggett is looking great. She is weighing in at exactly one pound and measuring at 22 weeks. This did worry me a little because we are now at 23 weeks, but the doctor said you give or take two weeks. Every baby grows at their own rate and if the doctor isn't worried, then I am trying not to be.
I have also come to the conclusion that she hates ultrasounds. She is either moving to much, crossing her legs tight or completely covering her face with her arms. It's funny and frustrating at the same time. We have a stubborn little girl on our hands.
Last week I was worried that her movements weren't strong enough, but this week she proved me wrong. On Monday it felt like she was trying to escape. It was both bizarre and exciting to feel such strong movements. Even today she was making stronger movements.
One other exciting thing this week was my grandparents sent us the carseat from our baby registry. We went with the Chicco KeyFit 30 Zip and couldn't be happier. Obviously we won't know how much we like it until we have our baby to put in it, but I like it so far.
How far along: 23 weeks
Gender: Girl!
Weight gain: I really don't want to say, but for the sake of documenting this pregnancy... 16 pounds. I think. I saw the scale going between 135 and 136 and looked away because I couldn't bear the thought that I gained seven pounds in a month. Don't get me wrong, I know I'm going to be gaining weight. I want to gain weight. But I feel like I'm gaining too fast. I should only put on between 25-30 pounds the entire pregnancy and the end of the pregnancy is when you put on the most. Again, the doctor isn't worried, so I'm trying not to be. I think I just need to be a little more active.
Symptoms: I pee constantly and thanks to this Florida heat my feet swell to the point that the only shoes that are comfortable are flip flops.
Maternity clothes: I don't really buy maternity clothes anymore. I have a few pairs of maternity jeans and leggings. Other than that I just wear loser tops.
Belly button in or out: Out!
Best moment this week: Dreaming about my little girl. I'm the worst at remembering my dreams, but I do remember her being so cute and sweet. Also, that kicking frenzy on Monday was pretty amazing.
Worst moment this week: I don't think I had a bad moment this week.
Miss anything: Nope.
Movement: Yes, the crazy movements on Monday along with her regular movements throughout the week.
Cravings: None this week. I really enjoyed the banana nut muffins I made the other day, but I wouldn't say they were a craving.
Queasy or sick: Nope.
Looking forward to: Can I say our vacation again? That is really what is getting me through each week. I have a busy couple of weekends at the beginning of May and I will be watching my godson again, so I know a vacation is going to be much needed.
