24 Week Update
3:23 PM
(Note: I tore of this top and shoes as soon as I got back in the car. Clothes are so uncomfortable!)
Today is Friday, the first day of May and the start of my 24th week of pregnancy!
We have reached viability! If Baby Baggett was born this week, she has over a 50% chance of surviving. Of course we want her to stay in my belly full term, but now I feel like I can breath a little easier knowing she is most likely developed enough to survive outside of the womb.
But as for the past week, not a lot of changes have occurred. I watched my godson for a few days this week, which really gives me a taste of what it will be like when little girl gets here. I can see how some say being a mom is the toughest job in the world, and I haven't even had the full effect yet! I especially give my mom all of the credit in the world for raising four girls so close together. She is seriously my hero!
Robby and I did go to the beach where the bump was on full display. I have some pictures of me from the side, and I look HUGE! I've come to the conclusion that I am just one of those people that has a ginormous belly during pregnancy even though baby isn't that big yet. I'm OK with that.
Here are the usual updates, since I can't seem to think of anything else to write about.
How far along: 24 weeks
Gender: Girl!
Weight gain: My scale says I lost two pounds, but I don't know how much I trust it.
Symptoms: My legs are extremely veiny now! I also had gas pains so bad that I thought I was having contractions. Luckily that was not the case. The back pain came back this week.
Maternity clothes: I'm having a very difficult time with clothes right now. Everything is so tight, and I can't find ANYTHING I like.
Belly button in or out: Out!
Sleep: It's the same. No issues yet.
Best moment this week: I was having a difficult time with this one since nothing really amazing happened this week other than the fact that Baby B is still doing well. But as I was taking a break earlier today she went on a kicking/flipping spree. She was moving around for so long, and I managed to get some of the movement on camera. I think she was telling me to get off my butt and eat something.
Worst moment this week: Definitely the gas pain. I thought I would try a natural birth, but having gas pains that bad made me think I couldn't handle contractions without an epidural. I guess we won't know for sure until little girl decides to make her grand entrance.
Miss anything: I miss being able to put on shoes without issue. I tried buckling my sandals this week but had to have Robby do it for me. Bending over is so much harder now.
Movement: I'm actually watching my belly move around as she kicks right now. I think she has the hiccups. I feel this consistent little thump when I press down.
Cravings: Soda. I want it every day all day. :( I've also wanted coffee lately. When I do get some it is decaf, but every day I think about Starbucks and Bold Bean. Sometimes I consider getting coffee multiple times a day. It's weird for me because since becoming pregnant I haven't had much interest in coffee.
Queasy or sick: Nope.
Looking forward to: A photoshoot we have scheduled this month. I haven't had professional pictures taken in over a year, so I'm really looking forward to having some early maternity pictures taken. You know, before I'm all big and swollen. I'm having them taken the day we are leaving for Louisiana, so that should be a fun, busy day.
