35 Weeks
6:38 PM
The past month or so has dragged this pregnancy. But now that I've hit 35 weeks it feels like the baby will be here any day. I decorated the nursery, bought all of the baby items I think I would need, constantly cleaned the house every day, washed baby clothes, started to pack bags. We are well on our way to being ready. Although I think we are more than ready because all the baby really needs is my boobs, a blanket, and some diapers. Right?
One thing I don't want to forget to talk about is my surprise baby sprinkle! I did not intend to have a shower this time around. I mean I just had a baby girl, so all I would really need is some diapers. Well my amazing friends thought otherwise and threw a sprinkle for me at my favorite restaurant. It was seriously so nice to hang out with some of my favorite people, eat good food and receive gifts for baby girl. She won't have to wear all hand me downs. haha I cannot thank my friends enough. I've never had a surprise party and this definitely made me feel special.
How far along: 35 weeks! Now it's starting to feel real! Only 5 weeks or less until I get to hold my baby!
Gender: A sweet, little girl!
Weight gain: At my 34 week appointment I was 141. I think that is 26 pounds gained.
Symptoms: So much pressure! When I laugh, use the bathroom, walk for a little bit I feel a lot of pressure. Falling asleep is getting hard because I'm so darn uncomfortable. Peeing loads! I did have a little bit of back pain, but it isn't a constant thing.
Sleep: Falling asleep is hard, staying asleep isn't too bad, but I am still tired most of the time. I find it so much easier to just stay home with Isla now because I get so exhausted keeping up with her while we are out.
Best moment this week: Definitely my surprise baby sprinkle at 33.5 weeks.
Isla has been such a good kid the past week or two. Obviously she's had bad moments here or there, but overall she has been such a happy, goofy kid. She is even potty trained for the most part. She has no problem going pee at home or in public, but we are still working on the poops. Honestly potty training has not been easy for us, so I am just so happy with where we are now.
I did have a pretty good 34 week appointment as well. I didn't bring Isla this time, and I actually had a few questions to ask my midwife. We talked about labor and delivery, which always makes things feel a little more real.
Worst moment this week: I think falling asleep at night has been the worst thing lately. Also, nothing sounds good to eat, so food isn't really the most enjoyable thing.
Miss anything: I miss not being pregnant, but I know as soon as I have this baby I will miss being pregnant.
Movement: She is a little mover. I can tell she isn't really changing positions much, because I always feel her little feet on my right side. She just drags them up and down my side or pushes really hard. I can also feel her pushing down into my cervix as well. I also constantly feel her in my right ribs and both hips.
Cravings: Not really.
Looking forward to: Having this baby!
Preparing all the things for baby girl's hospital bag.
Heather had her shower a week after mine. Here we are enjoying our 34 week bumps.
